Verdict

Billy Red had to work hard to win at Brighton last month and is likely to find this tougher having been raised 3lbs since that success with a safer option looking to be GREEN LAGONDA, who gets the vote ahead of Peopleton Brook. Brendan Powell's eight-year-old has been narrowly beaten in his last two starts and he should again be thereabouts racing off the same mark as last time. Regal Royale is capable but has disappointed in recent starts and of more interest may be Jim Boyle's Step It Up. The five-year-old has been running consistently well of late without winning and he should again be involved at the business end of the race. The vote though goes to Green Lagonda, who has been placed in his last two starts and the handicapper has seemingly given him a good chance to resume winning ways having dropped the David Evans-trained gelding 3lbs since his most recent start.
