Verdict

Secret Society is clearly thought capable of better but Galpin Junior has shown more on the track so is preferred. Michael Bell's charge was backed as though defeat was out of the question at Yarmouth in June but disappointed odds-on backers when trailing home in sixth. It will be interesting if Secret Society's supporters come back for more. A safer option would appear to be Galpin Junior as he shaped with considerable promise in a maiden won by Coventry Stakes also-ran Square Eddie. The yard's runners usually derive plenty of benefit from their initial outings and he won't need to find a great deal to land this. Five Star Junior showed some promise at Bath but needs to pull out more as do Reel Ale and Rocoppelia. Dannios and Nala are newcomers from respected yards so keep an eye on the betting to see what the market makes of their chances and those of the selection, Galpin Junior.
