Verdict

Our Jonathan has won at Group 2 and Group 3 level and the ground has turned in his favour again. Despite top weight, he's entitled to go close in this grade though David Simcock also runs Chester third Gramercy and gives him a set of blinkers to help him concentrate. Swendab and Elusive Hawk both arrive in form but are taking on better opposition today and the latter has a penalty to carry. Clear Spring also has to shoulder 6lb extra after scoring at Ripon but Top Cop could appreciate the drop back to 6f and Cruise Tothelimit has been knocking on the door. PALACE MOON often pops up when least expected and hinted at a revival at Newmarket earlier this month. He's been dropped a further 2lb since so gets a tentative vote.
