    Verdict

ASTRA HALL can complete an early double for Ralph Beckett and Richard Hughes despite tackling her elders. She receives weight all round but looked a filly on the upgrade when cosily accounting for Gallipot at Lingfield recently. Viola Da Gamba is another three-year-old filly likely to get involved at the business end if she can handle her first experience of soft ground. Her latest effort when runner-up in a reasonable Windsor contest indicated that she's capable of obliging in ordinary handicap company. Laser Blazer is hard to assess as 13 of 14 runs have come on polytrack and Taste The Wine, one of three Bernard Llewellyn contenders, looks a safer shortlist option.
