In depth

Verdict

Ballythomas was only beaten four lengths when a 50/1 chance over a longer trip at Catterick on New Year's Day. He must have claims in this but CANUSPOTIT is a little less exposed so gets the nod. He had no chance against the highly-rated Red Sherlock over 2m5f at Southwell last month but stuck well to his task in the closing stages and did finish six lengths clear of an earlier point-to-point and bumper winner, who had been backed to beat the favourite. Moss On The Mill looks very one-paced while Speckled Door weakened quickly at Towcester last time. Social Overdrive was very disappointing over hurdles last season.
