Verdict

The bottom three in the handicap here are still maidens and it's difficult to see that altering in the near future without dramatic improvement. Galley Slave won at Market Rasen last week, however, and should make a bold bid to defy his penalty while Hi Ho Silvia won at Wetherby and Plumpton before unseating his rider at Towcester. But SOVEREIGN SPIRIT showed he was no back number when third at Fontwell last month and could be poised to take advantage of a decent mark in this.
