    Verdict

Double Mead is a tentative selection in the finale, while Pochard, Winsley Hill and Present can all take a hand in making sure this is run at a true gallop. Present is being kept busy and she may represent good value for a place. Still, her record of one win from 21 previous starts tells its own story and she is hard to recommend. Winsley Hill is far less exposed than many and, as she is in really good from just now, her connections can be confident that she has been placed with a winning chance. Quite whether she is capable of giving weight away all around is debatable, though. Pochard won in good style at Fontwell last week and, even under a 7lb penalty, she has to be considered a threat at this level. The faster ground is also a concern and it may be best gauge the betting market before taking the plunge where she is concerned. Double Mead, on the other hand, has already shown her versatility and is expected to step up to the plate in this company. Kim Bailey has steadily brought her along this year and has is not reaching for the stars by pitching her at this level. Having been raised 12lb for her win at Market Rasen in March, the daughter of Double Trigger does have need to continue to show improved form. So only a minimum stakes play is advised.
