Verdict

THE HERDS GARDEN made a highly promising debut at Down Royal earlier this month when runner-up to the talented Moonshine Lad, who had won his previous race and would have scored over timber subsequently but for falling at the last. Noel Meade's four-year-old can go one better as his maiden allowance might prove just enough to see off Shaneshill, who made most for a convincing victory at Naas. Aidan O'Brien's King Leon should do better over this trip after his debut over 2m3f at Naas while Thornfield did his best to make all at Punchestown a couple of weeks ago and only faded in the closing stages.
