Verdict

Seamie Heffernan made good use of First Friday's stamina when making all over 1m4f at Cork but a 6lb rise and the shorter trip won't play to his mount's strengths. The veteran Akram, twice a winner over hurdles, ran well over the C&D last time but is another who would be suited by further. Porthaw's only success came on fast going but Phoebe Van Gelder ran very well behind Lough Ferrib over the C&D last month, her first ever attempt at the trip. CURL CAT ran his best race for a long time when a staying-on third over 1m1f at Ballinrobe last month so it was a surprise to see him dropping back to 7f at Roscommon last time. He was again finishing strongly and with a victory over this trip to his credit he looks the one to be on here.
