Verdict

As Good As Gold showed a bit of promise at Naas but couldn't handle the testing ground at the Curragh where she was beaten a long way and finished behind one of today's rivals Gussy Goose, who stayed on nicely from an unpromising position. The latter's stable is also represented by Perfect Fit, a daughter of Teofilo out of a sprint-bred mare. Devonshire is a very speedily-bred filly and a half-sister to the Listed winning sprinter Hurryupharriet. She'll know her job and is on the shortlist as is Craze, who is out of a 5f winner. Ger Lyons can do little wrong at present and he's represented by Belle Et Bete and Cathy's Pursuit and it's the latter, who is the first foal of a 5f winner, who looks to have the best chance to continue her stable's remarkable run. However, Dermot Weld's MARSALI, a half-sister to two winners in the USA, has all the credentials to be a useful performer and she gets the vote.
