In depth

Verdict

Willie Mullins had an astonishing eight of the original 17 entries in this Grade 1 and is still mob-handed with a quartet of runners. All are in different ownership so jockeys sort themselves out. It's difficult to know what to make of Florishwells D'Ete, a winner on the Flat in France and a debut winner for her new connections on heavy ground at Gowran. Beluckyagain had looked promising before beaten a long way at Limerick last week so it's a surprise to see her turning out so quickly. ADRIANA DES MOTTES was just touched off by stablemate Abbyssial in a Grade 2 here and both came to grief in the Triumph Hurdle. The former is only a four-year-old and her allowance can see her home. Layla Joan landed a point-to-point then completed a hat-trick over timber before stumbling and unseating Paul Carberry at the first at Doncaster. She should come out best of those not trained by the champion.
