Verdict

HIGHLAND LODGE impressed in landing a maiden point-to-point at Kilworth in March. He was bought for £35,000 shortly after and placed in the care of Emma Lavelle, who seems to have found a good opportunity for the Flemensfirth gelding in this. Ruben Cotter and Triptico have also won between the flags and are worth a second look, while Trafalgar only weakened on the run to the last on his hurdles bow at Aintree last month and will know more today. Great Gusto was second on his racecourse debut in a bumper here in February and may have seen too much daylight at Chepstow subsequently. He should do better now faced with a set of hurdles.
