Verdict

Eshoog carries a penalty for her Warwick maiden success but still isn't badly treated and could go close again. Welsh Inlet looks the pick of John Bridger's two runners and is preferred to Ron Harris' pair Sugar Beet and Diamond Vine, while there are possibilities about Blue Deer who made all in a Warwick apprentice handicap six days ago and races off the same mark here. Mon Visage was having only her second start of the year when third at Lingfield and the drop in trip should suit but it's CELTIC SIXPENCE that gets the vote. She is at her best when there is give in the ground and was only beaten a short head at Haydock at the start of the month. A 3lb rise in the weights isn't excessive.
