In depth

Verdict

Crimson, Melaaya and Judraan are the three to consider here with the more experienced Crimson getting the nod. Michael Jarvis¿s Judraan has just had the one outing to date, at Goodwood. He ran respectably though, finishing a close sixth in a decent race won by Mark Johnston¿s Prince of Light and can improve. Johnston should know where he stands with his interesting debutante Melaaya. It seems significant that this son of Aljabr is sent on the long haul south for his debut and a market move would be interesting. Mick Channon¿s more experienced Crimson looks the one to be on though. He ran well to be second two outings ago and then ran well at newbury last time despite finishing out of the frame. He takes a drop in grade here and can take advantage. Crimson gets the vote.
