Verdict

Three-year-olds don't have a particularly good record in this but that shouldn't be a problem for CROWN COUNSEL, who was the only one of that age to contest a strong handicap at Haydock last week which he won with the minimum of fuss. Mark Johnston's colt carries a 6lb penalty here but he should complete a quick double. Jim Boyle has done well to get a hat-trick out of Song To The Moon but the four-year-old was receiving 16lb from Avon River when landing a claimer here last time and this is much tougher. Salient has been raised just 2lb for scoring at Bath and has won from much higher marks in the past while the consistent She's A Character can't be ruled out though she's 9lb higher than when gaining her last success at Doncaster in April.
