In depth

Verdict

Clare Harrier has suddenly found his form and completed a track and trip double with a smooth victory over Alvar in December. He doesn't mind a break between races and has to be on the short-list despite another hike in the weights. The Reek has been incredibly consistent and deserved his first success here in November though a 7lb rise takes him to his highest ever mark. Atlas Peak gained a surprise victory over the course and distance last month and didn't appreciate dropping back in trip last time so he's one to keep on the right side. Samollie is just 2lb higher than when scoring here in December but hasn't run as well subsequently and though Black N Brew ran very well here last month connections won't be happy with a 6lb rise. COOL ATHLETE has run well on all three starts here since returning from a break so it's a surprise that the assessor has seen fit to drop him 5lb, which just gets him into this handicap. He was in fine form at this time a year ago and can get back to winning ways despite his big weight.
