In depth

Verdict

General Marshall was an odds-on chance at the Curragh after a fine run here behind Toscanini and though he didn't get the clearest of runs it was still a disappointing performance. The longer trip could see him in a better light but he looks vulnerable and LOLA BEAUX can improve past hime. Jessica Harrington's filly attracted strong support in a Tipperary maiden last week and ran a fine race, just being caught in the final furlong after going to the front 2f out. The winner of that race, Zafilani, is trained by Dermot Weld, who has the newcomer Griko entered here and this half-brother to four winners is one to keep an eye on. Zylan made an encouraging start at the Curragh and didn't appreciate being dropped in distance at Cork next time. Jim Bolger's filly Mainicin is a half-sister to the useful Paene Magnus and any support shouldn't go unheeded.
