David Wachman had plenty of early entries and relies on Athassel Abbey, who really caught the eye on her debut behind Found at the Curragh, and the 200,000 dollar yearling Laffina, who is a half-sister to seven winners. Clutchingatstraws was a 50/1 chance on her debut at the Curragh but belied her odds with a fine effort behind Shepherd's Purse. She started favourite at Listowel last time but didn't get going until too late so this longer trip will be in her favour. FACADE made her debut in a maiden at Gowran last month won by her odds-on stablemate Together Forever. She ran nicely to finish fourth and with the experience behind her the daughter of Galileo can gain her first success. John Oxx has had a terrible season with his juveniles but generally does better in the later part of the year so Looper may be capable of some improvement.
