In depth

Verdict

Jazz Girl gained her fifth success from just 12 starts in a tough Killarney handicap last week but has it all to do against some progressive three-year-olds. Amira's Prince won easily over a mile at the Curragh in March before a fine run in the Tattersalls Millions at Newmarket. He didn't appear to enjoy stepping up to 1m2f behind Warwick Avenue at Fairyhouse last time so it's a surprise to see him over this trip. The winner that day is trained by Aidan O'Brien who has Chicago entered here and he gained his second victory when beating the useful Hay Point in a handicap over this trip at Fairyhouse. However, he was firmly put in his place by MACBETH at Gowran in April and though the winner hasn't done as well as expected subsequently he's been racing at a much higher level and can get back on the winning trail. The high-class bumper Shu Lewis is the fly in the ointment as connections have her entered in the Irish St Leger, which looks a bit optimistic.
