In depth

Verdict

From a shortlist containing Flying Heart, Bowness, Special Gold, Born For Dancing and Chilly Cracker, we will side with Flying Heart. With the going having worked in his favour, Flying Heart can go well here, with a return to form being evident with a fair Sandown run last time after a slow start. In a competitive affair, he gets the nod. Bowness has been performing well and, on breeding, could well handle the going, and he is respected. Special Gold has proven he can handle cut, while Born For Dancing came home well on his latest start and could be well-weighted now that he looks to be improving. First-time blinkers could bring improvement from Vague Star and Dorn Dancer, while Selkirk Storm has dropped to a handy mark if at his best, that best having come on soft going. Finally, Detonate has become a bit disappointing, but his best juvenile form gives him claims, while Chilly Cracker has now dropped to a competitive mark, and Malaika starts life in handicaps on a potentially fair mark. Overall, though, we will stick with more proven form and opt for Flying Heart.
