Verdict

PEARL SECRET left a good impression when making a winning debut at York in October. Three subsequent winners have come out of the race and David Barron's colt can go on to better things this year. Electric Qatar posted some decent efforts last season despite not winning and he should be thereabouts, but Powerful Wind's four victories were all recorded on fast ground and it remains to be seen how he'll handle today's conditions. Dual winner See Clearly seemed to act in the testing ground when runner-up at Catterick last term and, with a recent reappearance at Pontefract under her belt, she could prove a threat in this.
