Verdict

Tatislu ran a fine race in the Bronze Cup at Ayr where he finished strongly over that 6f on soft ground. He did much the better of the three-year-olds there and, back in his own age group, is certain to make a bold bid to defy his big weight. Glanely has scored once from six starts and that was at Wolverhampton but he looks the type to improve and is on the short-list. Teetotal was a bit disappointing on soft ground at Hamilton last time but the front-running Soaring Spirits arrives with a good chance despite not taking to Fibresand last time as he's been getting caught over a mile so this trip should suit. But, in a tricky finale, the vote goes to LILAC TREE, a winner over this distance at Kempton last November and tackling a trip much too far on his return from a long break at Windsor last week.
