Verdict

Secret Witness and Jonny Mudball have their sights lowered but this is a hugely competitive handicap in which several have strong claims. Prodigality bounced back to form at Goodwood 12 days ago but has a penalty here. Cheveton also carries extra after scoring at Pontefract earlier this week but he may be better over a stiff 5f. Recent Catterick second Ancient Cross certainly prefers the shorter trip, as does Singeur, but Gatepost stayed on strongly over 6f in the Ayr Silver Cup last month and has to go on the short-list. KHUBALA may well have won with more luck in-running at Ascot three weeks ago. Frankie keeps his partnership with Hugo Palmer's three-year-old intact and the pair can gain compensation for that narrow defeat.
