Jazz ended his first campaign with a course and distance victory and was made favourite on his return at Pontefract but was well beaten behind New Bidder. The winner has been handed a 4lb rise, which looks fair, and there should be more to come. Mr Matthews, who wasn't beaten far in third, must have every chance of reversing the form on the revised terms but Khalice was beaten a long way. Lexington Abbey improved throughout last term, scoring at Nottingham in October, while The Hooded Claw came from off the pace over 5f at Thirsk and will be happier back over this trip. CENTRE HAAFD scored at Hamiliton in June then hung badly when beaten narrowly there a month later. She's been given plenty of time and is given the vote.
