Aypeeyes and Aureate are two that appeal in an open contest but a chance is taken with Songe. Charlie Longsdon has been making the headlines for all the right reasons this season and he could have a useful youngster on his hands here. He failed to win in four starts over hurdles in his native France but did finish an 8 length second to the smart Tatenen in a Listed race in September. He's unlikely to lack for fitness and has to be of interest. Aypeeyes made a satisfactory start to his hurdling career at Newbury when making ground from the rear to finish a never nearer fourth behind runners from the big West Country yards. He can take closer order here. Aureate also shaped with considerable promise at Ayr and should be all the better for that experience and the run. He was a useful performer at his best on the level and his chance must be respected. There are one or two others of interest in this field and the market should be monitored but our vote goes to Songe.
