In depth

Verdict

They are likely to be stretched completely across the width of the track in this competitive sprint and LAYLA'S HERO can follow up her recent success at Ayr. It's been some time since Dandy Nicholls was mopping up the big race sprints at will, but his stable appear to have turned the corner over the last week, and he'll be hoping that the seven-year-old can defy his 6lb penalty. Clubland gets the chance to repeat last year's victory off an identical handicap mark whilst Monsieur Royale appears to need everything to drop right for him and with the handicapper taking no action for his second at Hamilton, he can stay on when the others have cried enough. A first time tonguestrap appeared to make the difference to Uprise at Yarmouth though a middle draw is never ideal at Doncaster. Prigsnov Dancer took a long time to get his act together on Turf and the locally trained nine-year-old shouldn't be far away from a decent draw.
