In depth

Verdict

Musaalem is the pick for the feature race of the meeting, ahead of Ishetoo and Orpenindeed. Willie Haggas' gelding is on a three timer; his previous successes have come over 7 furlongs, in which he sat just off the pace before making his move. The drop back in trip isn't expected to pose too many problems, nor should a middling draw. Ishetoo has finished in the frame in his last 6 races and has to be respected, but has faded a little late on in his last couple of outings. Orpenindeed, with blinkers on for the first time, has raced in a higher grade on the all weather and will be in with a shout. But in what should be a very competitive heat, preference is for Musaalem.
