Verdict

Shubaat isn't convincing on paper but hailing from his connections needs a look in the market, however it might pay to take a chance on Sir Michael Stoute getting improvement out of LA CONCORDE, with Reality Show looking one to take on at the likely odds. The last-named took a remote second at Hamilton last time and although that was a step up on his debut he did look rather one-paced and his young rider has to prove himself. With that in mind we'll take a bit of a chance on La Concorde, who was easy to back ahead of her debut and ran accordingly. However, she's a nicely bred daughter of Sadler's Wells who should improve for this rain-softened ground and with Ryan Moore taking over might be good enough to win. Shubaat hails from a yard whose debutants have been going well and he's worth a check in the market; his dam is well-related, including to an Oaks third, so this trip looks the right place to start. In a race where it's hard to be confident about any Ancient Times has to be included in calculations having obtained a rating of 72 so far although on breeding he isn't a guaranteed stayer. In contrast Fuzzypeg should have no problems getting home on her debut if fit and ready and the market will tell us more as to that, but we'll side with man-of-the-moment Ryan Moore and La Concorde.
