Verdict

Andrew Balding trained the disappointing favourite Side Glance for last year's renewal and will be hoping Highland Knight gives a better account. The latter is closely matched with Sovereign Debt on running at Salisbury last term and went on to land a Group 2 race in Germany. Gabrial wasn't disgraced in pattern company last term and should go well but Moonstone Magic went wrong in last season's 1000 Guineas having won the Fred Darling at Newbury impressively before that and might not line-up unless there is significant rain. Connections will be hoping she can fulfil her early potential this year, but the vote goes to another on a recovery mission in CHANDLERY. The winner of the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Goodwood in 2011, he missed the whole of last year but an entry in next month's Group 1 Lockinge Stakes suggests Richard Hannon's colt has been showing all the right signs at home.
