Verdict

ESTIMATE just failed to repeat last year's heroics in the Ascot Gold Cup in June and the post came just too soon in the Lonsdale Cup at York last time. Today's extra 2f will suit and Sir Michael Stoute's mare can return to winning ways. Times Up finished a couple of lengths behind the selection at York and would prefer some cut as he bids to land this for third time in succession while Angel Gabrial also ran well when fifth in the Lonsdale. Third to Brown Panther over 2m at Sandown back in May, Whiplash Willie should stay the trip, while Clever Cookie and Brass Ring are others with a shout. Biographer could only manage fourth in last year's renewal and Battle Of Marengo has yet to show his best for David Simcock.
