In depth

Verdict

Mustaqer, Union Island and Headline Act may be the three to look at here, with MUSTAQER the selection. Union Island a good second on his debut, can be expected to improve. Kevin Ryan's charge shaped well but the form is hard to weigh up as it has not been tested. He can improve and looks sure to go well. Mustaqer is clearly highly regarded because he was thrown into a Listed race on his debut, and ran a blinder at Newbury. That was on an easy surface, and he should therefore have no problem with the surface here, with this contest representing a drop in class. Like Mustaqer, John Gosden's newcomer Headline Act is a son of Dalakhani, and he is out of a classy mare who is a daughter of Sadlers Wells. His ability to handle the ground looks likely, and any market move would be of interest. However, Mustaqer, staying on well last time, looks a winner waiting to happen and he gets the vote.
