In the opener, we will shortlist Black Charmer, Carmenero, Manouche, Urban Tiger, Wee Charlie Castle and Expensive and select Black Charmer. Black Charmer showed plenty of promise when second to Saville Road on his debut eight days ago, a run that makes him a major player today. Carmenero does not lack for experience and his form is pretty good, particularly his second to Sir Xaar two runs ago, so he warrants respect. The well-bred John Dunlop newcomer, Manouche, is another to pay heed to, while Ulla Pendragon, Mister Fizzbomb, Alan King's 27,000 guineas purchase Urban Tiger, Mick Channon's 30,000 guineas son of Sinndar, Wee Charlie Castle and Chris Wall's 40,000 guineas purchase, Expensive, are ones to give some though to. However, for the winner, unless the betting tells a different story, we will side with Black Charmer.
