In depth

Verdict

Come On Buckers showed up well on his debut at Leicester and looks sure to improve but that was not a top race and so preference is for one of the newcomers, with Monsieur Jourdain given the tentative vote. One could have picked up any one of these for less than ¿10,000 but that doesn't always indicate the quality of a maiden, although to be fair this one looks mediocre. The selection is related to several winners over in France and looks to have been picked up for a snip, the market will help guide to his chances but if the whispers are positive then he should be backed accordingly. Alan McCabe has a couple in the race and each needs respect, although neither makes too much appeal at face value. Marygate represents Mel Brittain and the filly needs respect as the stable are fairly shrewd, whilst Come On Buckers should improve for his Leicester run and should be at home on this better ground. A tough beginning with so little to go on, however it is Monsieur Jordan who gets the vote.
