      Verdict

Ebor winner Dirar is stepped up to the big time here and has to be taken very seriously, but there are reasons to side with MOTRICE. Sir Mark Prescott's string is flying at present and this Motivator filly will be at home on softer ground than when showing up well in defeat in a Group 3 at Goodwood last time. This extra half mile is another plus and with her age allowance also a positive we will side with her. Dirar should also go on the ground and won't be stopping either, but Opinion Poll looks a very big danger. Cut suits the Halling colt, who is penalised here for his Group 2 Lonsdale win at York last time and he should have no trouble with the extra couple of furlongs. He will be tough to beat. Last year's winner Askar Tau has never yet performed at his best on softer going or after a break, but conditions and an extreme trip suit Pointilliste, who is not ruled out. Motrice can step up and take the prize.
