    Verdict

General Hawk has solid claims if reproducing his Catterick classified victory in this lower grade while First Maite should appreciate the extra furlong after a staying-on handicap fourth on the all-weather at Wolverhampton last time. Red Lion is on a long losing sequence but was far from disgraced behind Espada at Catterick on his latest start and could pose a threat at this level.
