Verdict

Willie Mullins won this a year ago and will have tuned the powerful stayer Final Approach to perfection after a nice break. Aidan O'Brien has a pair of fancied three-year-olds entered but Clearwater Bay is stepping up from 1m4f and has plenty of weight on his handicap debut and Bright Horizon may have the better chance. SWIFTMARK has been ridden by an amateur on his last three starts and has performed with real credit. He wasn't beaten far by Endless Intrigue over 2m1f at Killarney and has an excellent chance of turning the tables on the revised terms. He can return to winning ways though there are numerous dangers including the lightly-raced filly Sindiyma, who makes her debut over this trip but should be suited, the very easy Wexford winner Myrine, who will love the stamina test, and course and distance winner Fisher Bridge. Knight Eagle is consistency personified but 12lb higher than for his latest success while Shamiran, an excellent second to Admiral Barry here last time, is still a maiden after 23 starts.
