In depth

Verdict

John Oxx and Aidan O'Brien have won the last six of these between them with the latter currently 4-2 to the good. Oxx has three entries with the Dalakhani filly Gelenschik possibly the best of them on this occasion though O'Brien's Torrey Pines looks to have more of a chance after a fair reappearance behind Salthouse, who runs earlier, at Leopardstown. MORNING MIX is undoubtedly the form pick on his narrow defeat by the unbeaten Radanpour in a Listed contest at Leopardstown. A repeat of that would see him take this though that winner is trained by Dermot Weld who has Gulf Of Poets engaged here. He made a very encouraging debut on soft ground at Leopardstown in April and with this trip and faster going in his favour he'll prove a big threat. Monolight stayed on strongly over a mile at Leopardstown last time and the longer trip should bring out the best in him.
