Verdict

Eight favourites have been successful in the last ten renewals but the betting is likely to be tight this time. Joseph O'Brien has chosen the globe-trotting UP over recent Killarney winner Soon and it's not difficult to see why. His mount ran in the Grade 1 Beverley D at Arlington just a week before storming to victory over slightly shorter here and this tough and improving filly will take plenty of beating. Manieree started favourite for that latter race despite it being here first run for a year and though disappointing should have benefited from the outing. Nahrain hasn't progressed from last season's Prix De L'Opera victory though she's only run twice this season and should be approaching her peak while Sea Of Heartbreak has been performing at a very high level this summer and was by no means disgraced behind Snow Fairy at Deauville last time. Caponata couldn't quite cope with Tannery here in July but that was only her third start and both Up and Soon were behind so she has to be a threat.
