Verdict

Aidan O'Brien appeared unconcerned after the return effort of FAME AND GLORY in a Listed contest here as the Irish Derby winner was in obvious need of the run and the ground was too soft. Johnny Murtagh most certainly wasn't hard on him and with bigger fish to fry the run is best put in perspective. Stablemate Dixie Music ran very well in fourth and though here to ensure a good pace he can be expected to be challenging for the runners-up spot. Runner-up that day was Popmurphy, who was having his first start for new connections and his first since finishing last for Karl Burke in a Group 3 at Newmarket in July. Recharge was a long way behind Fame And Glory in the classic here but will have come on a ton for his return behind Famous Name at Leopardstown and should have a good season.
