Verdict

Defining Year scored over 1m4f at Dundalk then ran a fine race over a trip too short behind stablemate Stuccodor in the Irish Lincoln. Chapter Seven returned from Dubai to run well in the same race and Colin Keane's claim is a major plus. General Brook didn't run as a juvenile and had a light campaign last term but scored at Fairyhouse on fast ground and could prove a threat if handling the conditions. Shalaman improved last summer and did well to beat Fairylike at Dundalk but was nowhere near his best on his only subsequent start there in October. EINSTEINS FOLLY revelled in the testing ground over this trip at Gowran and, providing conditions don't dry out, he's expected to follow up with just 3lb extra to contend with. Valbucca completed a double at this time a year ago but shot up the weights as a consequence and hasn't run since August.
