In depth

Verdict

Alertness started favourite on her debut at the Curragh last month but faded into fourth after showing good speed. The runner-up Bwana has since scored so Jim Bolger's filly looks sure to be winning soon. Oakheart has a very speedy pedigree as his dam has already produced five winners including the useful Masta Plasta. THE WARRIOR cost 600,000gns and is a brother to a juvenile Group Three winner and half-brother to four others including a Grade 1 winner in the USA. He can make a winning start though with Dermot Weld's yard in such good form Araner, who cost 100,000 euros and is by Kyllachy, is also respected.
