Verdict

Silver Chief started a short-priced favourite for a Tramore maiden last month but virtually refused to race. He's had a couple of runs on the Flat subsequently and done nothing wrong but he's hardly one to trust. Iron Duke had Mac Tigue just over a length behind when scoring over the C&D in May but a subsequent 7lb rise and a longer trip proved too much for him at Listowel. The runner-up is 4lb better off and should get closer but The Rossmeister has shown his best form, including last month's Tramore victory, on much faster ground than he'll find here. Paddy O Dee is better over fences so in a race where there are some questions to be answered a chance is taken with FRANKIE FLOWERS, who hasn't had much racing and showed his first sign of ability over hurdles at Clonmel last time.
