In depth

Verdict

Back Burner looked certain to appreciate a stiffer test of stamina when returning to action over 7f at Tipperary and he should get that here. Shazamour wasn't particularly fancied on her debut at Listowel but ran well and will have benefited from the experience. She should make her presence felt but MERELI looks the answer. Mick Halford's son of Cape Cross was never likely to show much in his first season but showed that a race of this nature is within his capabilities when just caught by Estithmaar over the C&D a month ago with Mafi behind. That will have done him the world of good and he gets the nod over London Plane, who has looked in need of further on both starts over 7f.
