Verdict

Nymph, a half-sister to Johannesburg amongst other winners, made her debut on Polytrack in April and faded after an early lead. Connections will want a win under her belt for the paddocks so she has to be noted in the betting. The front-running LAKE DISTRICT may take some pegging back in conditions he likes as he wasn't headed until close home over 1m1f here in June. He's given the nod over Inkerman, who will be tackling this sort of ground for the first time after four runs on fast going. Lateral Thinking almost caused a shock against Harpist at Down Royal and as that was only his third start he can improve and play his part. Jim Bolger's newcomer Toquette is a half-sister to a Prix Morny winner and wouldn't need to be a world-beater to make a successful debut.
