Verdict

BYERLEY BABE (NAP) and Une Artiste fought out a real battle in a similar race at Thurles in January when the former just managed to hold on. She's 2lb worse off and Nicky Henderson wouldn't be sending the latter if he didn't believe the positions couldn't be reversed but Robert Tyner's mare looked to have a bit up her sleeve and has had a recent run over hurdles so gets the nod. Lucy Wadham sends Baby Shine from Newmarket and she's improved since beaten a couple of lengths by Une Artiste at Huntingdon in December though so has the winner, who can confirm the form. Kate's Benefit was eight lengths behind the selection at Thurles and though Mrs Mac Veale and Definite Ruby are closely matched on their 1-2 at Tramore in August they will need to find some improvement in this grade.
