In depth

Verdict

CHARGER was most unfortunate to be caught right on the line by Mind The Steps at Kilbeggan on Sunday and, racing from the same mark here, compensation awaits. Hevelius beat Mind The Steps narrowly over this C&D a couple of weeks ago but the selection has much the better of the weights here. Spa Wells isn't the most consistent of performers as a career strike-rate of 2-38 suggests but he would have a chance second to none if able to repeat last month's excellent second to Kitty's Lord in a huge field at Punchestown. Benefitthewest is progressing nicely and followed her victory at Sligo with another very good display from a 6lb higher mark at Ballinrobe.
