        Verdict

        Connections decision to resist a tilt at the Arc can be rewarded by a successful defence of her crown by MIDDAY. This versatile filly has looked better than ever this season in adding three further top flight successes to her tally and can confirm her superiority over Plumania and the other European challengers. Japanese challenger Red Desire may emerge as a bigger threat with her fourth behind Buena Vista in May providing a good line to her form as that one has finished a close second to Dar Re Mi and Arc runner-up Nakayama Festa in 2010 and Red Desire is better than the bare form of her prep run suggests as she suffered trouble in running. Hibaayeb can challenge for the places whilst the home challenge may be led by Harmonious who is four out of five on turf and progressing rapidly.
