Verdict

Red Gala, New Guinea and Speed Gifted are the three for the shortlist in this event and the vote is given to NEW GUINEA. A number of the fancied runners have high draws here but the selection has won over this course and distance so we know that he will handle the track. He has been running well at Nad Al Sheba and he has ground conditions to suit so he makes plenty of appeal. Red Gala is the obvious alternative as he is proven in this company, but this trip will stretch his stamina and at the forecast odds he could be one to take on. Speed Gifted spread a plate on the way to the start last time but he still ran respectably and he remains open to plenty of improvement. Strategic Mount won well at Ascot when last seen and he should be thereabouts at the finish even though he will find this tougher. Sir Duke is a model of consistency but he is another that will need to improve to make his mark today. New Guinea is put forward as the pick.
