Verdict

A really good race in which Correspondent drops to handicap company for the first time this season after being campaigned in Listed and Group company. He's yet to show any real sparkle but should be more at home at this level. But DUKE COSIMO looks on a very tempting mark for the Stoute yard, is progressive and looks sure to appreciate this first sortie over a seventh furlong. The problem is the outside draw but hopefully he can tuck in and weave his way through. Rene Mathis is developing into a promising handicapper and the Fahey charge is another likely to be suited by the extra yardage whilst Lord Ashley and Beach Club also merit respect in a competitive contest.
