Verdict

No favourite has won this in the past 10 years and three-year-olds don't have a good record but Withernsea ran well on his reappearance at Ripon after a year off where the heavy ground wouldn't have helped. DOCTOR PARKES wins races on all sorts of ground and all kind of tracks, including here. He arrives in good heart after a fair effort at Ayr and is well treated on the balance of his form so gets the nod. B Fifty Two was having just his second run back when runner-up to Clear Spring at Windsor where he led to the furlong pole over that 6f so this should prove ideal. Cruisetothelimit has been confined to 6f for most of the past year despite the fact most of his victories have been over the minimum though none have been from a mark this high while though Monumental Man has won six times he's never landed in a class 3 event.
